Application for Citizenship

Citizenship is the status given to the legal member of a country. It involves rights, duties and privileges. Naturalization is the process by which a citizen of a foreign country becomes a United States citizen.

People want to become citizens for a number of reasons. U.S. citizens have the right to vote in elections, help families immigrate, work in certain state and government jobs, and lastly, they cannot be deported.

An application cannot be filed by a lawful resident of at least 5 years who has made a home in the U.S. for at least the past five years (or 18 months out of the last 3 years if married to and living with a U.S. citizen).

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have good moral character and be able to pass tests on English and U.S. History & Government. As part of the process, the customer will be provided with an Eligibility Test to ensure they are eligible to apply.
